"Good Fences Make Good Neighbors," Robert Frost
Frost like many of our forefathers, recognized the value of a good fence. For generations, they could be seen from nearly every roadside; however, more commercialized farming and less livestock have changed the view for drivers and passengers. Today, fences are few and far between in the countryside. This trend helped the Elmwood-Murdock Future Business Leaders of America members strategize how we could preserve those that exist right here in Cass County, Nebraska. Additionally, in honor of Elmwood's 125 birthday, FBLA members decided to provide a gift that would impact the community by bringing visitors to our community. We decided to draw attention to fences by adding decorated segments that carry out different themes. At this point, we're waiting for good weather to put up the last of the fences; but we've provided a sample picture of some of the elements we've produced for the fence segments. To print a map/brochure, get directions, and read about the fences, click on the link below. Finally, we thank Mr. Brothers and the SkillsUSA students for their leadership in producing many of the fence decorations.
